WHAT DOES QUALITY OF LIFE MEAN TO YOU?
~ In 2021 my quality of life and mental health was not good. I felt isolated and lost in all aspects of life. I was under a blanket of stress, working full-time, living alone, and coping daily with a chronic illness called Fibromyalgia. This invisible long-term disability which I was diagnosed with in 2018 causes chronic pain throughout the body, extreme fatigue, headaches, mental fog, stomach cramps, sleep deprivation, extreme sensitivity and many other ailments. The invisible condition affects nearly 1 in 20 people in the UK, and has no cure. Sufferers need to tap into their emotional, psychological & physical resilience daily just to function. The huge magnitude of symptoms experienced, whether it be new, severe or persistent acts as a huge burden on peoples overall health & well-being which impacts their
daily lifestyle.
It was at this time of struggling I began to create and build my own side-line business, and in 2022 BELLAZEN was born. The name & logo of
my exciting, new health & wellness business were derived from aspects of my "lifes journey" and the "beginning" of this new hobby & venture.
Clearly, my own struggles and mental health issues had also made me think. ~ Yes, this was MY journey but how many other billions of people
in this world may be suffering in their own way. Perhaps feeling overwhelmed, unhappy, stressed , burnt out, lost or even suicidal on a daily basis for one reason or another. For these very reasons, I decided to build a platform to help support others. share products, knowledge & inspirational posts. Therefore, whilst you browse my website today, and enjoy what BELLAZEN can offer you, please take a breath and a moment to FOCUS on your own health & well-being. A WOMAN'S BEST FRIEND IS THEIR DOG RIGHT?

~ YES!
My adorable pampered pooch has been my best "four-legged" friend
for the past 9 years. Throughout the years he has been by my side,
he has made me feel loved, calm, and most of all ~ special!.
​
​Through the early years, me & Monty would go walking for miles enjoying the Kent countryside, whatever the weather. Our weekends were spent rummaging through woods & pathways enjoying the countryside. However, in the same year I was diagnosed with my chronic illness Fibromyalgia, Monty also became unwell. He was lethargic, had no appetite, and spent his days right by my side. Primarily, we thought his behavioral change was due to me being at home, unwell and he could sense the change in my physical & mental being. However, when he started to show signs of aggression to adults & other dogs whilst out I knew something was not right.

When our Vet could not diagnose what was wrong I pushed for him to attend Fitzpatrick Referrals (aka) "Supervet". Monty was given an MRI scan on his hind and back legs, which resulted in the diagnosis of Lumbosacral disease. The disease relates to the dysfunction of the lumbosacral intervertebral joint, and the compression of the surrounding nerve tissues. The symptoms include lower back pain, reluctance to jump, hind limb pain & weakness and reluctance to wag his tail. He was treated with steroids in his spine and Gabapentin for ongoing future use. Sadly, from his diagnosis, and mine, it was clear the two of us were no longer able to enjoy our favorite long walks, due to our debilitating conditions.

It was then I began to look at more alternative & holistic ways of managing both our symptoms such as using essential oils and aromatherapy ideas & products to help improve our well-being and created Montys Pooch Parlour - our pet shop online.
These days, although we had to change a number of aspects of our lives due to our conditions, myself & Monty have learnt to continue to do all the enjoyable things still, as and when we can (albeit not as often as
we would like to) and try very hard for our conditions not to get
the better of us.

I truly hope from my life's journey and BELLAZENS creation I can support & raise awareness
to people suffering with a chronic illness daily, including Fibromyalgia.
